Mercedes to add ChatGPT to car infotainment system in the US
Mercedes plans to add ChatGPT chatbot to the MBUX infotainment system. The feature will be launched in the United States first.
MBUX users will be able to participate in the beta program starting June 16. To do this, you need to activate the corresponding functionality.
You can also enable ChatGPT by simply saying, “Hi Mercedes, I want to join the beta testing program.”
According to the automaker, the assistant will be able to not only accept natural voice commands but also carry on conversations.
“Soon, participants who ask the assistant to tell them in detail about their destination, suggest a new dinner recipe, or answer a complex question will receive a more comprehensive answer while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road,” the company said.
In terms of privacy, Mercedes plans to record and store conversations to further improve the feature.
