NATO countries are building a “drone wall” and fortifying the border with Russia and Belarus

A coalition of NATO countries, including Poland, the Baltic states, Norway and Finland, will build a “drone wall” to protect their borders from Russia and Belarus.

Lithuanian Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite unveiled a plan to use unmanned aerial vehicles for border security after discussions with her counterparts from Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Norway, and Poland. “The drone wall will stretch from Norway to Poland and is designed to use drones and advanced technology to ensure border security,” Bilotaite said.

The plan includes the use of physical infrastructure and surveillance systems, as well as drones and other technologies to prevent provocations by hostile countries.

The drone wall initiative marks a strategy to protect the Baltic states and their northern allies from potential threats. These countries are also creating specialized units within their border guard services to use UAVs for surveillance and defense against enemy drones.

The Baltic states also announced the construction of more than 1,000 concrete bunkers along their borders with Russia and Belarus. The Baltic Defense Line project will include anti-tank mines, trenches, barbed wire, concrete barriers for tanks, and ammunition depots near the border.
