NATO countries have started military exercises near the borders with Belarus and Ukraine
NATO countries have started training near the Ukrainian border: in Lithuania – Iron Wolf, in Poland – Puma. There is quite a bit of information about this for obvious reasons.
A number of NATO countries are conducting simultaneous military exercises on the eastern flank of the Alliance, we are talking about the Iron Wolf and Puma maneuvers. Information about the composition of the forces, the legend of the exercises and directions is extremely limited.
In particular, Iron Wolf, which takes place in Lithuania, in addition to the Lithuanian armed forces, is attended by nine other NATO countries, including Germany, Norway, Great Britain and the USA, and about 3,500 soldiers and 700 pieces of equipment are involved.
The #eFP BG 🇱🇹is ready and capable of defending our @nato ally Lithuania! To train #defence operations during exercise #IronWolf, today all 🇩🇪🇳🇱🇳🇴🇧🇪🇨🇿🇱🇺 units conducted a tactical road march in order to deploy to Pabrade training area. The area of maneuvers is defined as Pabrad, just 10 km from the border with Belarus to the northeast of Vilnius. Based on the available photos, the actions of mechanized connections in the forests are practiced.
In addition, attention was paid to actions in urban development, as evidenced by photos of the tactical situation, which were published by the NATO battle group. It is interesting that these exercises have the specified name Iron Wolf 2022-II, due to the fact that Iron Wolf 2022-I was held back in May.
Following the order by🇱🇹#IronWolf brigade, the staff of #eFP BG🇱🇹issued its own intent for the defence of the area of operation to the battle companies. In the next days, all 🇩🇪🇳🇱🇳🇴🇧🇪🇨🇿 companies will put the plan into action for a successful defence.#StrongerTogether #WeAreNato pic.twitter.com/Myo3oyRMSC

In parallel with these exercises, Puma exercises are taking place in Poland in the Rzeszów region, which has become an important logistical hub for the transfer of weapons to Ukraine by NATO countries. Regarding them, there is also a certain disagreement due to the fact that maneuvers under this name were held in Poland in March, and then at the end of May.
Now, in addition to the army of Poland, the armies of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary, as well as some units from Great Britain and the United States, are participating in the maneuvers under the same name. The scale of these maneuvers is not disclosed. But the Ministry of Defense of Poland reported on the movement of a significant amount of military equipment on the night of October 22-23 to the training ground in Nowa Demba.
At the same time, a separate element of the training is the march itself, which will pass through Rzeszów in order to practice movement in conditions of dense urban development. It is also known about the participation of units of the 18th mechanized division of the Polish Army.
We will remind that the USA unexpectedly deployed the 2nd Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division near the border of Ukraine in Romania, which is now also conducting active training together with the Romanian army. Thus, NATO countries simultaneously conduct maneuvers on their eastern flank from the Baltic to the Black Sea.
