Residents say they heard an explosion-like sound in all parts of the city. Some people even mention cracked glass on the windows.
Local publics report that air defense was allegedly activated in the city.
Sources from a Russian media outlet also report that three S-200 missiles were allegedly “shot down over Rostov.” However, the publicist who disseminated this information noted that it needed additional confirmation.
The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, tried to mitigate the situation and tried to calm down the locals.
“Due to numerous reports of loud noises heard in different parts of Rostov and the surrounding area. The military has informed that the aircraft has gone supersonic. Please remain calm,” he wrote.
In his message, he did not mention either “air defense operations” or “shooting down missiles or drones.”
Explosions in the Kaluga region
The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, said that explosions were heard this morning in the Kirov district.
He mentions an allegedly repelled “UAV attack”. No casualties or infrastructure damage were reported after the incident.
Drone attack in the Moscow region
As a reminder, this morning the Russian Defense Ministry announced the alleged “successful repulsion” of a drone attack in the Moscow region. Despite this, Moscow airports temporarily did not receive or send flights.
