New WhatsApp features – two accounts on one device and self-destructing voice messages

WhatsApp now allows you to connect multiple accounts on one device. This can be useful for those who have multiple numbers, such as work and personal.

The new feature was announced personally by Mark Zuckerberg. Now you won’t need to log out of your account every time, carry two phones with you, or worry about sending messages from the wrong account.

To set up a second account, you need a second phone number and a SIM card or a phone that accepts multiple SIM cards or an eSIM card. You need to open WhatsApp settings, click the arrow next to your name, and then click “Add account”. You can manage privacy and notification settings for each account.

WhatsApp is also beta-testing the ability to send voice messages that the recipient can listen to only once, after which it will self-destruct, The Verge reports.

The feature is currently only available to a limited number of Android and iOS users using the beta version of the app. WhatsApp has already implemented a similar “View Once” feature for photos and videos, so it’s a logical step to extend it to voice messages.
