Norway has a “door to space”: the first spaceport in continental Europe was opened there

On November 2, the official opening ceremony of the Andoya Spaceport, the first spaceport in continental Europe, took place.

The spaceport is located in Nordmel on the Norwegian island of Andoya. It will have several launch sites for launching small and medium-sized satellites.

However, the first of these pads, the payload integration facilities and the flight control center are reserved for Isar Aerospace and designed according to the company’s specifications.

The Andoya Cosmodrome is also ideal for launching satellites that require a sun-synchronous orbit around the Earth. There is a great demand in the market for spaceports capable of launching satellites into specific orbits, and the Andoya spaceport will meet these needs.
