Nova Poshta Airlines has named priority aircraft for its fleet

The airline of the Ukrainian postal operator Nova Poshta, Supernova Airlines, is interested in forming its fleet of Western Boeing 767 or Airbus A330 aircraft in the long term, Avianews reports.

Both airliners belong to the category of wide-body long-haul aircraft, which means they can transport tens of tons of cargo between continents without intermediate refueling stops.

The cargo version of the American Boeing 767 can carry up to 54 tons of cargo, while the European Airbus A330 cargo plane can deliver 68.6 tons. Both aircraft are available in a cargo version from the factory and can be converted from passenger airliners available on the secondary market into cargo aircraft.

The Supernova Airlines website also lists possible flight routes that will require long-haul aircraft. The list includes Guangzhou-Warsaw, Toronto-Warsaw, Hong Kong-Warsaw, Hong Kong-Sydney, New York-Liege, Chicago-Liege…

Currently, Supernova Airlines’ fleet consists of two AN-26 short-haul cargo aircraft with UR-UZI and UR-UZM registrations, but they are not yet in use by the airline.

AN-26 of Supernova Airlines, a member of the Nova Poshta group.

Prior to Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, Supernova Airlines had a lease agreement for Boeing 757 cargo planes. These are narrow-body airliners that can fly long distances.

The owner of the [Boeing 757] aircraft was forced to withdraw from the leasing agreement because the military risks were unacceptable to him. We understand the owner’s position, keep in touch and will definitely return to negotiations after Ukraine’s victory.“, Yaroslav Krasnozhon, CEO of Supernova Airlines, told avianews.com in January 2023.

“Nova Poshta registered its own airline in October 2021. Supernova Airlines will help the postal operator to speed up the delivery of parcels from China and America to Ukraine (currently via Polish airports).
