Supernova Airlines, a part of the Nova Poshta group of companies, plans to launch its first flights in May 2023. The first routes will be Riga-Rzeszow and one flight Rzeszow-Chisinau.
This was stated by the company’s CEO Jaroslaw Krasnorzon in an interview with CTS.
“Perhaps another destination from Western Europe will join and the frequency to Chisinau will increase if we see demand. We are still studying the European market, while the US and Chinese markets are well known to us, but we are looking for a long-haul aircraft for them,” says Krasnojon.
Supernova Airlines’ fleet currently consists of two AN-26s, which the company has leased. One of them is undergoing maintenance in Slovakia, and the other is in Ukraine.
The airport has not yet been selected for the permanent basing of the company’s aircraft.
“We are evaluating the possibilities and are still in the process of negotiations. At the moment, we can only export cargo from Ukraine by road,” says the CEO of Supernova Airlines.
Krasnozhon added that Supernova Airlines is ready to start flights in the Ukrainian airspace as soon as it is opened.
To recap: In January, Supernova Airlines received an operator’s certificate, which allows it to start its own cargo flights.
Supernova Airlines will operate flights from Ukraine’s Boryspil and Lviv international airports after the war ends, and while the Ukrainian skies are closed to flights, air transportation will be carried out from the European airports closest to Ukraine.
“We are the first Ukrainian carrier to fulfill all the requirements and receive an operator’s certificate in the conditions of war,” said Krasnozhon.
