Next Monday, October 17, B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers will take part in NATO nuclear exercises, which will take place in the northwestern part of Europe.
The purpose of the new exercises is to test the effectiveness of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s nuclear deterrent. They will last until October 30. This was reported by Oana Lungescu, the official spokesperson of NATO.
The exercises will take place over the North Sea, Belgium and Great Britain. 14 member countries of the Alliance will take part in them. In addition to the B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber, NATO will take to the skies several dozen more aircraft, including reconnaissance, refueling, and fourth- and fifth-generation fighters.
