Peugeot cars will get the revolutionary ChatGPT assistant for drivers, following Volkswagen and Mercedes

Stellantis plans to use ChatGPT in Peugeot cars to improve the voice assistant, joining competitors such as Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.

We will implement ChatGPT in all cars, including the new e-3008 model, and small commercial vehicles.

– Jérôme Michelin, Director of Product Planning at Peugeot.

Peugeot will launch a pilot version of the ChatGPT service, which will be able to connect to the car’s control system and answer many general or navigation-related questions, in five countries – France, the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain. The service is expected to become standard equipment this year.

Last year, Mercedes-Benz began trials in the US, allowing drivers to use ChatGPT, saying it should help them get more natural answers and handle queries ranging from destination details to dinner suggestions, Reuters reports.

Volkswagen said earlier this month that its voice assistant will be integrated with ChatGPT by mid-year to facilitate interactive dialog with drivers. Peugeot also said it will introduce a new eight-year warranty for the e-3008, up from the current two-year warranty for traditional cars, to try to encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles.
