Ambassador of Ukraine Vasyl Zvarych called on the Polish authorities and police to punish those responsible for the largest-scale damage to Ukrainian grain that occurred in Poland the day before. The ambassador wrote about this in the social network X.
Zvarych emphasized that the perpetrators of such barbarism harm not only Ukraine but also Poland.
Sprawcy takiego barbarzyństwa szkodzą not only tylko Ukrainie, ale także Polsce. Apelujemy do polskie władz i policji uczynić wszystko możliwe i niemożliwe, aby znaleźć i sprawiedliwie ukarać sprawców tak haniebnych czynów! https://t.co/kyMIGon3jd

“We appeal to the Polish authorities and the police to do everything possible and impossible to find and fairly punish those responsible for such shameful actions,” the diplomat said.
In Poland, on the night of February 24-25, unidentified persons poured corn out of 8 gondola cars, the fourth case of interference with the operation of rail transport transporting agricultural products. This was the largest-scale damage to Ukrainian grain since the beginning of the farmers’ protests – a total of 160 tons of Ukrainian grain was damaged.
“The incident occurred 150 kilometers from the port of Gdansk, from where the cargo was supposed to leave Poland. That is, Ukrainian agricultural products were in transit through the country,” Ukrzaliznytsia said in a statement.
- Since February 9, Polish farmers on tractors have been blocking roads in nearly three hundred cities and towns across the country. Among them are six checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
- On February 11, protesters scattered three tons of Ukrainian grain on the Polish road near the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint. Ukraine reacted negatively to this ploy, with statements from both the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- On February 20, Polish farmers opened a railroad car with Ukrainian corn and poured it onto the tracks.
- On February 23, near the Dorohusk checkpoint, unidentified persons opened wagons with Ukrainian rapeseed and poured it onto the rails. On February 24, the Poles poured out the grain for the third time.
