Polish president sued for calling Poles “pigs”

The Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior has filed a lawsuit against President Andrzej Duda for his words about pigs sitting in a movie theater.

This statement allegedly referred to the viewers of the Green Frontier.

“The President has 60 days to respond to the lawsuit. If he fails to do so, he will deprive himself of the right to defense,” said the organization’s representative.

“We did sue the current president for calling Poles ‘pigs’. Never before in the history of our country has any organization sued the current president of the Republic of Poland.” – the Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior reported on Facebook.

The decision to serve the lawsuit on the President was made by the District Court in Warsaw. The organization filed this lawsuit on the eve of the October 15 parliamentary elections. They expect a written apology and a payment of PLN 500 in favor of the Ocalenie Foundation.

As a reminder, on September 20, President Andrzej Duda used the phrase “Only pigs sit in the theater” during an interview on a program broadcast on public television. He went on to explain that the words used during the German occupation have the right to be quoted.
