Presented serial electric SUV Smart #1: range up to 440 km, speed up to 180 km/h
Smart is finally ready to show the serial version of its electric crossover Concept #1.
The new Smart #1 looks a lot like the concept. The serial version retains frameless windows and a glass roof. However, engineers have abandoned some conceptual “redundancies”, such as scissor doors, large 21-inch wheels (standard version is satisfied with 19-inch wheels, 235/45 R19 tires) and two rear seats (standard triple sofa installed).
The Smart #1 electric car received a 66 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 440 km (according to the WLTP test cycle). It takes 3 hours to charge the battery from 10% to 80% of the 22 kW AC mains, and it takes less than 30 minutes to recharge the battery when using ultra-fast DC charging. The car is equipped with a 200 kW engine (272 hp, 343 Nm of torque) and develops a top speed of 180 km/h.
Inside the car are available 12.8-inch infotainment display, 9.2-inch digital instrument panel and 10-inch projection display. Engineers have equipped Smart #1 driver assistance systems, 7 airbags and an optional “digital key” that allows you to pass the electric car to friends.
The electric car Smart #1 has a length of 4270 mm, a width of 1822 mm and a height of 1636 mm, the wheelbase is 2750 mm. The weight of the car is 1820 kg, the maximum payload is stated at 450 kg.
So far, there are no details about the start date and price of the electric car Smart #1. Last year, the company announced that the car will go on sale in China in 2022. It is also planned to bring it to the European market.
