The assets of UIA, which was Ukraine’s largest airline before the Russian invasion, are being auctioned off by the state-owned SETAM.
The trademarks with the UIA name and logo and the subsidiary MAUTECHNIK, which repaired the aircraft, have already been sold.
A 99% stake in MAUTECHNIK, a 62.43% stake in the Interavia handling company, which registered passengers and provided stairs to aircraft at Ukrainian airports, and the premises of the airline ticket offices in the center of Kyiv were sold.
Currently, SETAM sells spare parts for aircraft and tools for aircraft maintenance. At the auction, you can buy seats for airplanes, an aircraft washing unit, aircraft parts, and a driver for transporting aircraft.
All UIA trademarks that were put up for auction were purchased by Oceanos Company LLC, established on July 29, 2022. The same company bought the most expensive lot – a 62.43% stake in the Interavia handling company for UAH 38.9 million.
Airline ticket offices in the center of Kyiv went under the hammer to Konstantin Gerasimenko for 6.7 million. UAH. Oleg Tkachuk bought a 99% stake in MAUTECHNIK for UAH 195.

UIA was established in 1992 as a joint venture between Ukraine and Western investors to fly from Kyiv to European countries using foreign aircraft. In 2011, the state sold its 61.58% stake in UIA to private individuals.
The new owners included the former owner of the bankrupt AeroSvit airline, Aron Mayberg. Later, the Kommersant Ukraine newspaper published information that among the shareholders of UIA after its privatization were Borys Kolesnikov (Minister of Infrastructure) and Mykhailo Tabachnyk (brother of Minister of Education and Science Dmytro Tabachnyk). Kolesnikov denied his presence among the shareholders at the time.
In 2015, businessman Ihor Kolomoisky, who owned AeroSvit, acknowledged his participation in UIA’s capital. He said he bought UIA shares from Borys Kolesnikov.
In 2022, UIA suspended flights amid a conflict between Aron Mayberg and Ihor Kolomoisky. The disagreement between the shareholders became public in 2021.
In 2023, three aircraft from the UIA fleet were transferred to the fleet of the Ukrainian airline Rosa Vetrov, which the media also associates with Ihor Kolomoisky.
