Protest over: Polish farmers no longer block checkpoints on the Ukrainian border

Polish farmers have stopped blocking truck traffic in front of the Hrebenne-Rava-Ruska checkpoint, the State Border Guard Service reports. Thus, all checkpoints on the border with Poland are currently operating at full capacity.

Truck traffic has resumed at the Rava-Ruska-Hrebenne checkpoint, and clearance and crossing in both directions is proceeding as usual.

At the same time, trucks transporting grain crops will not be allowed to enter Poland. This type of cargo can be transported through the territory of Poland only in transit mode.

According to the State Customs Service, the protesters have left the strike site. “Thus, all checkpoints on the border with Poland are currently operating at full capacity,” the statement said.

The border crisis between Poland and Ukraine has been going on for more than a year: protests have been waxing and waning, and the border has been blocked by both Polish carriers and farmers.

Currently, the border is being blocked by Polish farmers, whose current demands are more related to dissatisfaction with the EU’s agricultural and green policies. Read more about the escalation of the situation in the chronology of the Polish-Ukrainian crisis by Forbes Ukraine.

Recently, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on farmers to stop blocking the border with Ukraine. He spoke about the extremely difficult situation in which Ukraine found itself after the latest series of Russian attacks. According to the prime minister, the near future may be decisive for the fate of this war.
