Lightly armored versions of Roshel Senator APC are successfully used in Ukraine.
At the CANSEC exhibition in Ottawa, the Canadian company Roshel announced the launch of its new product – the Senator MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) armored vehicle. The MRAP has successfully passed ballistic and explosive tests in accordance with STANAG 4569 AEP 55 Level 2 and Level 2a/2b, conducted by an independent US laboratory certified by NATO. This is a long-awaited addition to the Roshel line of tactical vehicles, many of which are already in use in Ukraine.
The Senator MRAP embodies Roshel’s extensive experience in the production of armored vehicles, as well as the experience of using the Senator APC in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Senator MRAP is designed to withstand fire from up to 7.62×39 mm API BZ caliber at a distance of 30 meters at a speed of 695 m/s.
The armored vehicles can also withstand a 6 kg AT Mine explosion, which is detonated under any wheel and in the center. Thanks to its innovative V-shaped hull, the Senator MRAP maximizes crew survivability by deflecting blast waves away from the cab and dissipating blast energy. All these properties have been confirmed in independent tests.
The MRAP is offered in various configurations (including anti-UAV, medical evacuation, command and control).
The Senator armored vehicles are manufactured by Roshel Smart Armored Vehicles, which is located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. There are many Ukrainians among the company’s founders and employees.
