Russia is forced to refine the technically imperfect Shaheds
On New Year’s Eve, as well as on New Year’s Eve, the occupiers carried out mass launches of ‘Shakheds’. They became possible thanks to the ‘plus’ temperature. To operate Shahed-136 in conditions of severe frosts, they must be modified. This became known from the military expert Oleksandr Kovalenko.
According to him, at the beginning of the year, the air in Ukraine warmed up to +15 degrees. At such a temperature, the effectiveness of the use of Iranian drones increases. The fact is that the fuel system of Shahed aircraft is not intended for use in low temperature conditions. For the operation of kamikaze UAVs at temperatures of -15, they must be modified accordingly. After receiving a new batch of Shahed-136, the Russians have to bring them to their senses.
Kovalenko believes that this fact explains the significant breaks between mass launches of Iranian drones. In addition to the fuel system, the occupiers are finalizing the guidance system. They install GLONASS units in drones, which ensure higher accuracy of strikes.
Shahed-136 drones are used by Russia to deplete the Ukrainian air defense system and save missile weapons stocks. The GUR data indicate that the Russian Federation should receive about 1,000 more drones from Iran.
