Russia stole a billion rubles from Google

The Russian propaganda channel Tsargrad TV received a billion rubles from Google as compensation for blocking the channel on YouTube. The Russians promised to spend the money to finance the war in Ukraine.

The amount of one billion rubles was previously frozen in the company’s Russian accounts as a result of lawsuits. It was launched at the request of Russian propagandists, who demanded to unblock their TV channel on YouTube video hosting. Encouraged by the first payment of the penalty, the Russians said that if the American corporation does not restore their video hosting account, the fine will be several billion dollars a year. So far, the Russians have voluntarily “squeezed” a billion in Russian currency.

Russia insists the removal of the channel is “illegal”, despite the fact that Russian propagandists have been blocked due to numerous user complaints about “hate speech” and false information. In addition, the founder of “Constantinople” Konstantin Malofeev a few years ago came under US sanctions.

It will be recalled that information about millions of smartphone users can be found on Russian servers thanks to Yandex spy codes.
