Russia tests “analog network” Prometheus air defense system, which allegedly shoots down hypersonic missiles

However, before that, the racists claimed that such a complex had already been used by the army

The Russian propaganda outlet Izvestia stated that the Russian army had tested the S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system, which allegedly showed new “analog” characteristics.

According to the Rashists, during these tests, the S-500 system allegedly demonstrated the ability to shoot down “hypersonic air targets,” such as promising Western hypersonic missiles, intercontinental ballistic missile warheads, or “guided warheads,” short-range ballistic missiles.

At the same time, the Russians are trying to hint that the S-500 allegedly confirmed such properties during the firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile from the Tula nuclear submarine of the Russian Northern Fleet, which was launched in the Laptev Sea.

And that the Russian S-500 can shoot down “hypersonic air targets” thanks to two factors: powerful radars and an electronic computer system and “highly maneuverable anti-aircraft missiles.”

But as for the anti-aircraft missiles for the S-500 Prometheus, for the first time the Russians made an interesting point: if earlier they spoke only about the 77N6 family of anti-aircraft missiles, now they claim that the 40N6 anti-aircraft missile from the S-400 complex is also integrated into this complex.

However, in general, Russian propagandists have put rather paradoxical emphasis on the story of their S-500 Prometheus. Allegedly, this system can shoot down “advanced hypersonic missiles” that are not yet available to Western countries.

And at the same time, they have only now, in February 2014, conducted an important test of the S-500 Prometheus system, the delivery of which to the troops allegedly began in 2022. The Military Balance 2023 does not provide data on how many S-500 systems the Russian army may currently have at its disposal.
