Russian “anti-aircraft missile systems” S-300 and Tor-M1 unexpectedly found themselves on a railroad in Ohio

Recently, a Russian T-90A tank arrived in Louisiana. Now the United States has Tor-M1 and S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. But while the tank was real, in this case we are talking about models of very high quality.

The anti-aircraft missile systems were spotted on a railroad in Ohio and photographed by Joseph Zadeh. He posted the photos on his Instagram account @aboveaverage.joe.

One of the photos shows a Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile system with a 5P85S launcher, which is part of the S-300. Another photo shows a radar for tracking and guiding missiles next to another Tor-M1. The radar is known as 5H63 and 30H6 (Flad Lid in NATO codification). The radar is part of the S-300 air defense missile system.

Both systems were developed in the Soviet Union. Nowadays, the anti-aircraft missile systems are in service with the Russian army and are actively used in the war against Ukraine. Moreover, the S-300 is used not only as an air defense system, but also to strike ground targets.

A closer look at the railroad car vehicles spotted in Ohio shows that 5P85C and 5H63/30H6 are definitely mockups. And it should be noted that the quality of the workmanship is at a high level. A few years ago, the US Air Force wanted to purchase S-300 artificial launchers. There is currently no information on whether the purchase was made.

As for the Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile systems, they look like real ones, although they are also models. It is worth noting that the US Air Force has at least one copy of the Tor-M2E, which is used for testing. It is known that over the years, the United States has acquired a lot of Soviet and other military equipment for research, training, and reengineering.
