Russian Armed Forces hit a thermal power plant in Donetsk region: mines in Toretsk are without power.

According to DTEK, heavy shelling damaged overhead power lines, leaving more than 100,000 consumers temporarily without electricity.

Occupants in Donetsk region shelled one of DTEK Energy’s thermal power plants. This is reported in the company’s telegram channel.

“On the night of May 4, DTEK Energy’s thermal power plant was once again damaged by shelling. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The attack damaged the company’s equipment,” the statement said.
It is noted that after the shelling stopped, the power engineers began to eliminate its consequences.

According to the correspondent, on the night of May 4, Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, was also partially de-energized.

The Ministry of Energy reported that at night a power generation facility in Donetsk region was shelled once again, forcing the power engineers to partially suspend its operation.

“In addition, overhead power lines in the region were damaged due to heavy shelling. More than 100 thousand consumers, including coal mines, were cut off from electricity,” the statement said.

As of the morning of May 4, electricity was restored to household consumers. Two mines in Toretsk remain without electricity.

Also, some customers in Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, and Kherson regions remain disconnected due to the hostilities.

DTEK reported that since September last year, DTEK Energy’s power plants have been attacked 31 times. Three power engineers were killed and 28 were wounded as a result of the attacks.

On May 4, at night, Russian occupants launched more than two dozen kamikaze drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders destroyed most of them. The combat operations were conducted in the northern, central and southern regions of Ukraine.

The American Institute for the Study of War believes that the Kremlin organized the drone attack on its own to push Russians to mobilize. This is evidenced by the Kremlin’s quick and coordinated response to the incident.
