Russian helicopter barely escaped from Ukrainian Armed Forces FPV kamikaze drone (video)

It seems that our military has found an asymmetric way to fight Russian attack helicopters

A video showing how the operators of one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ FPV kamikaze drones tried to shoot down a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter has been made public. The author of this attack and the video was the Birds of Magyara unit.

Although the enemy vehicle eventually managed to escape from the possible attack of our drones, we still have a unique case that deserves special attention and gives us hope that the first case of shooting down a Ka-52 by our kamikaze drone may soon happen.

Firstly, as we can see right on the video, the attempted FPV drone strike on the Russian Ka-52 was more of an impromptu action by our UAV operators, who clearly did not expect to see such a “fat” enemy air target in their area of responsibility.

For example, the attack had to be carried out from the side rather than on the opposite course, which allowed the enemy helicopters to escape from the attack.

Secondly, the estimated range of our FPV kamikaze drones in many cases exceeds 10 km, which is definitely greater than the range of our army air defense systems.

Therefore, it is possible that due to certain design improvements or improved tactics, our kamikaze drone will be able to bring down the Ka-52, which is a particularly dangerous enemy helicopter for Ukrainian soldiers, next time.
