According to the investigation, fragments of weapons used by the occupiers to attack the hospital were found at the scene of the tragedy. The head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, promised that the enemy would definitely feel the retribution.
On July 8, Russian occupants massively attacked Kyiv, partially destroying the building of the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital. The Security Service of Ukraine explained what exactly the Russians used to attack the institution.
According to the investigation, the Russian Armed Forces attacked Okhmatdyt with an X-101 missile. The SBU has already qualified this Russian terror as a war crime. Criminal proceedings were also opened.
At the site of the tragedy, they found relevant evidence that the enemy had damaged the hospital with this type of weapon. On the territory of the children’s hospital, there were fragments of the rear body of the X-101 missile with a serial number, as well as part of the rudder of this missile.
“The Security Service will do everything possible to ensure that the enemy feels the maximum retribution for each of its war crimes, including today’s attack on Ukraine. This retribution will be both legal and moral. A terrorist state is not an abstract concept. There are specific names of the killers. And nothing will save them from justice,” said SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk.
As of 13:50, it is known that two employees of the children’s hospital were killed. Seven other citizens were also injured, including at least two children.
As part of the criminal proceedings initiated by the Security Service under Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder), the investigation is ongoing.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko also confirmed on his Telegram channel that both victims of the Russian shelling of Okhmatdyt were adults, including one doctor.
