Russians announce the use of a new Coalition-SV system at the front: what is known (photo)

Russian propaganda media say that the Russian occupation forces are using SAU 2S35 “Coalition-SV” on the battlefield in Ukraine “in single copies.” And that mass production of these self-propelled artillery systems has already begun.

Moreover, Russian propagandists themselves claim that the information has not been officially confirmed. In general, the news about the start of mass production sounds strange, because back in August of this year, on the eve of the Army-2023 forum, the first deputy director general of Rostec announced the start of mass production of the Coalition-SV, and at that time this vehicle was still undergoing state tests. So, it is possible that this statement on the eve of the exhibition was purely propaganda.

Rashists pompously claim that this self-propelled gun should bring a “decisive turning point in the counter-battery struggle,” and it is worth mentioning here that in the end this self-propelled gun received reduced specifications, which actually negates the point of the development.

For example, initially, this self-propelled artillery system was supposed to implement a truly original solution with two guns and automatic loading devices to have a rate of fire of 16 rounds per minute, but in the end they abandoned this solution, claiming some “new technologies” that allegedly allow to implement such a solution in the standard version.

We would like to remind you that officially the work on the development of this system began in 2006, in 2013 the first two prototypes of the vehicle appeared, then the story of a series of postponements of the test dates of these vehicles began, and in October of this year the Rashidists announced that the Coalition-SV system had passed state tests.

The 2C35 Coalition SV is based on the T-90 tank chassis and is armed with a 152-mm 2A88 gun with a 52-caliber barrel, with a realistic rate of fire of up to 10 rounds per minute. The range is claimed to be up to 80 km, although this figure may well be exaggerated.
