Russians block the new song “Katsapy” by TIK, which has hit the trends

TIK’s frontman Viktor Broniuk said that all social media posts, stories and videos mentioning the song “Katsapy” are being blocked.
This was reported by the band’s press service.

On June 30, the live video for the song “Katsapy” by TIK from their new album 18+ premiered. Within a week, the track hit YouTube trends and ranked fourth among the most popular videos in Ukraine.

At the same time, according to TIK’s frontman Viktor Broniuk, the band faced massive blocking and removal of posts, stories and videos on all social media algorithms that only mention the song “Katsapy”. He said that the Russians were “very offended by the song about them.”

“They are blocking everywhere: posts, stories and videos have been taken down on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, both on my own pages and the official pages of TIK, as well as on the pages of our listeners. After the M**kal complaints, the “fragile” algorithms of social networks are now attributing “hate propaganda” and “hate speech” to us just for the song and the words. Not to mention the daily blocking of true photo and video evidence of all the horrors that Russians are committing in Ukraine,” commented Broniuk.

He noted that the words used in the song to refer to Russians are historically justified.

“As a historian by training, let me remind you again: m**kals and katsaps are the same “historical justice” in the name of that horde, so let’s keep on crushing them on all fronts,” the singer emphasized.

Ukrainians appreciated the song. For example, the spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, ordered a song for the air force from TIK on Facebook.

“I called Viktor Broniuk and asked him to record something like this for the Air Force! He said he would think about it! Apparently, he has some ideas. Thank you, Victor, for the worthy patriotic content! And without swearing, there is no way. Together – to victory!” Ignat wrote.

The very first listeners to hear the song “Katsapy” were the artillery soldiers the band visited in June.

“These heroes are also called the ‘surgeons’ of war, because as specialists in large-caliber artillery, they always hit the enemy accurately, quickly and precisely. Our premiere of “Katsapa” was immediately appreciated by the soldiers. And in return, after the concert and an hour of communication, they treated us to a delicious soldier’s soup,” the artist recalled.
