Russians hit the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the South with rockets with chemical weapons

The Russian occupiers even have in their arsenal MLRS shells equipped with poisonous substances

The commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, said that on August 6, 2023, the Russian army fired twice from MLRS near Novodanylivka, using rockets with a chemical substance (probably chloropicrin).

The Russians conducted such shelling to stop the advance of our troops. At the same time, the enemy violated all possible international conventions that prohibit the use of munitions with chemical agents. But it’s important that there were no casualties on our side as a result of this attack, obviously, neither military nor civilians.

The official report does not detail what type of MLRS the Russians used for this attack, and, accordingly, what caliber the missiles were. Another “introduction” in this story, which is still unknown, is the origin of the shells, whether they came directly from the Russian army warehouses or were received from other rogue states, such as North Korea.

However, it is worth emphasizing the fact that this is the first time the occupiers have used such powerful weapons with chemical munitions against our defenders. Until now, there have been repeated reports that the Rashists are using the same chloropicrin against our fighters at the front, but then it was mostly about grenades with K-51 chemical equipment as “drops” from drones or improvised devices of an undetermined type.

Even the very tactic of using K-51 grenades as drone strikes against our fighters was a manifestation of cunning on the part of the Russian occupiers. As Defense Express explained in one of its publications, the Rashists had a number of scenarios using tear gas and UAVs, including simply dropping a grenade to force our fighters to leave their positions and gain a tactical advantage. Or a combination of chemical and high-explosive grenades being thrown at our fighters while they were retreating from their positions to increase the number of possible casualties.

This tactic is treacherous, as it does not allow for an immediate determination of the nature of the threat. And the use of rockets with chemical warheads by the Rashists is doubly treacherous, as it is aimed at maximizing the effect of damage among our defenders.
