Saab engineers have developed the RBS 70 NG mobile complex taking into account Ukrainian experience
In September, DSEI 2023 will open in the UK capital. Saab will bring to the exhibition a new mobile air defense system created with the experience gained in Ukraine.
We are talking about RBS 70 NG. It uses the American armored vehicle JLTV as a chassis. The car’s body is covered with Barracuda’s multispectral camouflage. The air defense system in the complex is the RBS 70 man-portable air defense system in the NG modification.
According to the specification released by Saab, the new SAM can engage targets at a distance of up to 9 km. It takes 45 seconds to deploy the system. During the flight, the anti-aircraft missile reaches a speed of Mach 2.
RBS 70 man-portable air defense systems are in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Not long ago, the Ukrainian military hit an enemy helicopter with RBS 70.
Official Kyiv first asked Stockholm to supply RBS 70 in 2022. The Defense Forces received them in March this year.
