SAIC has created a simulator for the Javelin, which has a simulation for destroying a Russian T-72 tank

SAIC has created a new version of a simulator for training basic skills in the use of the Javelin anti-tank missile system. But the final version will not be available soon.

The new version of the simulator is based on the Unreal Engine 4 engine by Epic Games. It supports simulation for destroying a T-72 tank. During the demonstration of the new product at an event organized by the US Army, one of the journalists was able to successfully hit a Russian combat vehicle.

The current simulator was developed in 2001. More than 20 years have passed since then, so the simulator needs an update. In total, SIAC has produced 900 simulators. They are used to train soldiers not only in the United States but also in other countries. Training on a simulator is much cheaper than using real anti-tank missiles.

The new version, called Block 1, will be ready in two years. The company claims that the updated simulator is able to provide a more realistic training experience with the Javelin anti-tank missile system.

In conclusion, the US Army wants to increase the production of anti-tank missiles and launchers to 330 and 41 units per month, respectively. The entire plan to modernize state-owned ammunition and weapons production enterprises is designed for 15 years and is estimated at $18 billion.
