Samsung has launched the Galaxy S24 and is rumored to introduce a new model in January 2024
Samsung’s Galaxy S24 lineup, which includes the standard Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, is rumored to be entering production, with a possible launch date predicted by insiders to be January 2024, GizmoChina reports.
Data on the January launch of Galaxy S24 has become more likely. This information came from various sources, including a popular Chinese insider Ice Universe, who claims that the flagship smartphones have begun mass production. While the exact launch date remains unknown, many leaks point to mid- to late-January, with some sources hinting at an even earlier launch.
The standard Galaxy S24 has reportedly been certified by China’s 3C certification agency, and high-quality renders of both the standard and Ultra versions have surfaced online, showing off the expected design. The Galaxy S24 may have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 6.17-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a battery capacity of 3900mAh to 4000mAh.
In some markets, the standard S24 and S24+ may come with the Exynos 2400 chipset, as the Korean Galaxy S24+ model appeared with Exynos 2400 and 12GB RAM on Geekbench. Samsung is planning to introduce innovative features such as Zoom Anywhere and E2E AI Remosaic for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. There are also leaks that hint at a titanium body for the Galaxy S24 series, which resembles the design of the iPhone 15 Pro.
According to Sammobile, the trend of early launches for Samsung’s flagship models is not new; previous models such as the Galaxy S22 and S23 were unveiled in February 2022 and 2023, respectively, with the Galaxy S21 event taking place in January.
There has also been a strategic shift in Samsung’s approach to its Unpacked events, which are held annually in different locations around the world, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 launches in Korea, marking a departure from the US-centric launches of the past.
There is considerable excitement around the Galaxy S24 series as Samsung looks to build on the success of the S23 series. Although the return of the Exynos chipset is causing some concern, the tech community is refraining from criticizing it until the official release and practical experience with the new devices.
There is also speculation that the Galaxy S24 Ultra may come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in all markets. The upcoming Galaxy S24 series looks set to be a significant release for Samsung, potentially setting the tone for the smartphone market in 2024 and providing major, traditional competition to Apple’s iPhones.
