Satellite imagery confirms Russian Su-27 and Su-34 fighters downed in Krasnodar region

On Sunday, May 19, Ukrainian drones attacked Russian Su-27 and Su-34 fighters at the Kushchevsk military airfield in Krasnodar Krai. “Schemes” released fresh satellite images confirming their defeat

This is is the investigation by journalists of the Schemes project (Radio Liberty).

It is noted that the damage to Russian SU-type aircraft, which were located on the territory of the Kushchevsk airfield in the Krasnodar Territory of Russia on the night of May 19, was recorded by the Planet Labs satellite.

According to the satellite images analyzed by aviation expert Anatoliy Khrapchynsky, Ukrainian drones damaged at least two Russian fighters, Su-27 and Su-34.

“We see a Su-34 with damaged or removed wings, and a clearly damaged Su-27 in another part of the airfield. The Su-30, which has hardly changed its position since May 11 and is located next to the damaged Su-27, could also be damaged,” he said.

According to him, the Kushchevsk airfield is a training base of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School, where the Russian Federation trained future pilots. However, Russia is currently using it to attack Ukrainian positions.

The images also show that after the strikes by Ukrainian drones, most of the Russian fighters were removed from the airfield.
