Scientists were able to revive a pig an hour after death – some organs recovered 100%

American scientists were able to develop a technology that allowed them to revive a pig within an hour of the animal’s death.

Specialists from Yale University managed to restore blood circulation and the work of internal organs in the pig within an hour after death was recorded. As part of the experiment, scientists provoked cardiac arrest in anesthetized pigs.

Within an hour, the animal’s body was connected to a special device that replaced the work of the lungs and heart. Next, the scientists injected a liquid called OrganEx. It is responsible for stopping the death of cells, restoring key organs and preserving the integrity of tissues.

In six hours, some organs were completely restored. The further fate of the resurrected pigs is not specified. As for the experiment itself, the obtained results may be useful in transplantology, helping to preserve the donor organs of deceased people for transplantation into patients.

Theoretically, scientists will be able to revive a person and restore the functions of internal organs after cardiac arrest. However, there is a nuance here. As we mentioned above, it takes up to six hours for some organs to fully recover. In turn, the human brain suffers irreversible damage after a few minutes without oxygen.
