The Skoda Enyaq iV electric car was able to last almost 16 minutes in a continuous drift on ice. The standard all-wheel drive version of the model was used for the record-breaking drive.
Skoda Enyaq iV crossover entered the Guinness Book of Records. In one day, the electric car set two world records in winter drift. This is reported by the official website of the Czech brand.
The new Skoda Enyaq iV drove in a controlled skid 7351 m in 15 minutes and 58 seconds. So he broke the world records for the duration of drifting on ice among all cars and among electric cars in particular.
The record race was carried out on the ice of a frozen lake near Ostersund in Sweden – a circular track with a length of 188.5 m was equipped there. The crossover was driven by British motoring journalist and racer Richard Madden.
It was not possible to set the achievement immediately – the Briton had to ride the track for 18 hours. During the record-breaking run, the Skoda electric crossover covered 39 laps. The maximum drift speed was 48.69 km/h, and the minimum speed was 31.64 km/h.
For the record, they took the top all-wheel drive electric car Skoda Enyaq RS iV with two motors with a total power of 299 hp. The car is completely standard, the only difference from the ‘stock’ is the studded tires. Michelin tires of size 245/35 R20 were installed in front, and Nokian Hakkapelitta tires of size 255/45 R20 were installed in the rear.
