Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, said that his company is actively working to counter Russia’s attempts to jam Starlink. “SpaceX is spending significant resources to combat Russian jamming attempts. This is a complex problem. They managed to shut down all communication systems except Starlink,” Musk wrote on the X platform.

The Starlink system is not only a means of communication, but also a reliable tool for providing situational awareness and command and control of military units. The ability to provide real-time communication between different military units is critical in the war against Russian invaders.

In addition, Starlink opens up wide opportunities for the use of various drones on the battlefield. The low weight and compactness of the terminals, low operating costs, and wide coverage make it possible to use this technology even in remote areas.

The Ukrainian military is actively using Starlink for communication and intelligence gathering. Recently, however, there has been information about Russia’s attempts to suppress the system, which raises questions about its reliability and sustainability in military operations.

To ensure the sustainability of the Starlink system, SpaceX continues to improve its technology and introduce new electronic warfare protection systems.

In particular, when the Russians launched their recent offensive in the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian military lost their Starlink connection. This is attributed to the fact that Russians have learned to jam satellites.
