Starlink plans to launch on 4G LTE mobile devices, SpaceX has launched a website to promote the upcoming Starlink Direct to Cell service.
PCMag reports.
“Seamless access to text, voice and data for LTE phones around the world,” the statement said.
Direct to Cell will enable the transmission of 4G LTE signals from satellites to standard smartphones without the need for additional equipment or special software. The system will use the Starlink satellite network. The service will allow users of ordinary smartphones to send text and voice messages and transfer files directly via satellites.
SpaceX plans to launch a text messaging service via satellite next year. Then, in 2025, the company plans to launch voice and text communications.
