Straight from Japan: Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrate the work of a unique “samurai drone”
The Ukrainian military showed the flight of an unusual FPV drone with a Japanese katana sword.
The video was posted on Wednesday, January 24, by journalist Yuriy Butusov on his Telegram channel.
In the video, the military launched a copter with a sword attached to its frame. In addition, the kamikaze drone was equipped with a payload. Despite its unusual configuration, the operator-controlled UAV performed several maneuvers in the sky and landed safely.
Most likely, this is a playful experiment, because it is difficult to imagine such a weapon in a real battle, although theoretically a drone with a rotating sword could injure a person.
“Reusable samurai drone, a landing page from Japan,” Butusov captioned the video.
In the comments to the post, users have already called the unusual drone a “reusable kamikaze” and an “aerial katana.” Some even suggested that next time the copter should be armed with a Ukrainian mace instead of Japanese weapons.
