Tesla announces Model 3 Performance: 510 hp, 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and 528 km range for $52,990 (video)

Last September, Tesla showed an updated Model 3, and now it has released the top version of the electric car with the Performance prefix.

The new model has received several external changes compared to conventional configurations. For example, Tesla installed more aggressive front and rear bumpers, as well as a carbon fiber spoiler and 20-inch wheels with Pirelli tires. In the elephant, the Model 3 Performance received carbon fiber inserts and sports seats.

In terms of performance, the car is equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 510 hp and a peak torque of 741 Nm. According to Tesla, the new product accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The range will last up to 528 km on the WLTP cycle or up to 476 km/h on the EPA cycle. Compared to the previous Model 3 Performance, the new powertrain is capable of delivering 22% more constant power, 32% more peak power and 16% more peak torque. And all this is achieved with lower overall energy consumption.

In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a new adaptive damping system that takes into account driver behavior and road conditions in real time to optimize ride and handling. The new product also boasts Track Mode V3. It combines engine, suspension, powertrain cooling, and Tesla’s dynamics controller into a single system.

Tesla Model 3 Performance is already available for order in the United States and Europe. With taxes, the electric car costs $52,990/€56,990/£59,990. The first deliveries of the machine will begin in May or June.
