Tesla is recalling more than 40,000 Model S and Model X vehicles due to steering problems
Tesla will be forced to recall more than 40,000 cars due to problems with the power steering.
The American automaker will voluntarily recall 40,168 vehicles. The company independently sent the relevant documents to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The problem appeared after the release of the October software update. It affects 2017-2021 Model S and Model X vehicles. Tesla claims that after the update, controllability has worsened when traveling on rough roads.
Experts note that the malfunction of the power steering affects less than 1% of cars. As of November 1, 2022, the problem was detected on 314 vehicles.
