Tesla recalls all Cybertruck pickups due to security flaws

Long years of development and numerous postponements of the release did not help Tesla to make a truly high-quality product. From the very beginning of delivery, the owners of the Cybertruck electric pickup complained of various problems with the vehicle. As a result, Elon Musk’s company decided to recall all the cars produced.

According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Tesla is recalling all 3,878 Cybertrucks shipped. As expected, the cause was a problem with the accelerator pedal: for some pickup owners, it simply got stuck, causing the car to accelerate uncontrollably and endangering the drivers and passengers of the electric car, as well as other people.

Tesla has confirmed to the NHTSA that the pedal in the Cybertruck can shift, leading to stuckness. The company has previously reported that the unauthorized change in production included a lubricant in the form of soap to facilitate the assembly of the pad components on the accelerator pedal. It was the soap residue that disrupted the fixation of the pad on the pedal. Tesla intends to replace or redesign the pedal on all existing Cybertrucks. In addition, the company has already made appropriate edits to the production process.
