The Armed Forces of Ukraine began to use mobile anti-aircraft guns to protect the border

Journalists of TRC Vidikon published a story about self-made light RSVV. They are used to protect the state border in the Sumy region.

Mobile RZSO is operated by the Sumy operational-tactical group. The fighters of the group mounted launchers on Toyota Hilux pickup trucks. Mobile MLRS have been in service with the Armed Forces since the summer of last year. Earlier, they were spotted in the Kharkiv region.

The pickup truck is equipped with UB-16-57 launchers designed to launch 57-mm rockets. 16 S-5 missiles can be placed in one launcher. Initially, the UB-16-57 was developed for use in tandem with airplanes and helicopters. Soldiers of the Armed Forces adapted the installation for launching rockets from pickup trucks.

Within a minute and a half, one pickup truck releases 32 unguided rockets. Preparation for firing takes about 4 minutes. S-5 missiles hit targets at a distance of more than 5 km. Thanks to the presence of a cumulative warhead, the missiles penetrate 150 mm armor. To aim the MLRS at the target, the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine use a mortar sight. Fire from the launchers is opened using the remote control.
