The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated three more cruise missiles that were launched over the territory of Ukraine.
On September 16 at approximately 14:00 (EET) over the Dnipropetrovsk region, three cruise missiles launched from the operational-tactical complex ‘Iskander-K’ were destroyed by the air defense means of the ‘East’ operational command.
Their total cost is approximately $10 million. Along with three missiles, the Air Force of Ukraine permanently landed the Orlan-10 operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicle.
‘Iskander-K’ is one of the modifications of the family of operational-tactical missile complexes ‘Iskander’. There are also ‘Iskander’, ‘Iskander-E’ and ‘Iskander-M’. The complex uses two R-500 cruise missiles with a maximum launch range of 500 km. The weight of the warhead is 480 kg. The R-500 missiles descend to 7 m when entering the target, and the maximum height in flight reaches 6 km.
