“The city is being taken under fire control”: occupants in Bakhmut are trapped, – Syrskyi
Russian occupants were surrounded in Bakhmut, the commander of the Land Forces said. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are shelling almost all enemy positions.
The Russian occupiers, who have been trying to take the city of Bakhmut for more than six months and have not taken it, are now trapped, and the Defense Forces are driving the Russian occupiers out of their positions near the city. This was announced on July 10 by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“Bakhmut. The enemy is trapped, the city is under the fire control of the Defense Forces. The work continues. In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy is being driven out of their positions,” he wrote.
The commander showed how Ukrainian defenders on the roofs of Bakhmut high-rise buildings were destroying the Russian occupiers who had set up positions there. For example, soldiers of the 77th separate airmobile brigade detected and shot at a Russian position with an ATGM.
On May 10, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks near the village of Dubovo-Vasylivka, Donetsk region, near Bakhmut.
It is also noted that last week Ukrainian soldiers liberated 4 square kilometers of their native land from Russian invaders in the Bakhmut sector. In total, the liberated area in the Bakhmut sector amounts to 24 square kilometers of Ukrainian land.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Armed Forces knocked out the Russian Armed Forces near Bakhmut. First, the Ukrainian infantry went into battle, and then the artillery fired on the fleeing occupiers.
