The contract is worth 60 million euros: NATO orders a batch of Carl Gustaf grenade launchers from Saab

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has ordered Swedish Carl Gustaf grenade launchers from Saab.

What is known

The information was shared by Saab. It is a contract worth 60 million euros. The order was placed on behalf of four NATO member states. Deliveries of grenade launchers are scheduled for 2024-2027. Unfortunately, Saab did not disclose the model of the grenade launcher. We can only assume that the contract will include a modern version of the M4.

For those who don’t know

The Carl Gustaf M4 supports the use of programmable ammunition and boasts the FCD 558 fire control system. The grenade launcher has an adjustable shoulder rest and an adjustable barrel handle support. Unlike other variants, the M4 can be carried charged. The grenade launcher can hit targets at a distance of up to 1 km.
