The enemy attacked Ukraine with 25 cruise missiles at night.
This was reported by the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the first wave of the attack, at about 22:00 on May 8, the occupiers launched 8 Kalibr from carriers in the Black Sea. The missiles were sent to the East of Ukraine. In particular, according to Mykola Lukashuk, the head of the regional council, 8 air targets were shot down over the Dnipro region.
However, the fragments of one of the missiles fell on a four-story building in Dnipro, breaking through the roof and reaching the 3rd floor. A missile warhead was found at the site, and rescuers and explosives experts removed it for further destruction. In addition, a woman was injured in the attack in Dnipro, with a preliminary report of a head and spine injury.
The second wave began around 4:00 a.m. on May 9. Then, the Russians launched 17 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from four Tu-95MS in the Caspian Sea region. Air defense forces in the center and south of the country managed to shoot down 15 air targets. According to the KMIA, “about a dozen and a half” missiles were destroyed around the capital.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted that during the attack, a fragment of one of the shells fell on a private yard in the Holosiivskyi district. No one was injured and the fire was extinguished.
According to the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, during a night attack in Kyiv region in the village of Myrotske, Bucha district, a downed X-55SM missile fell into the yard of a private house, damaging the roof, but no one was injured.
Also in Cherkasy region, the remains of a missile were found in a forest near the village of Orshanets, according to preliminary findings, an X-101. The explosion caused a fire, but it has been extinguished. No one was injured. The blast wave damaged 47 windows of the building of the Cherkasy Regional Tuberculosis Dispensary.
Another missile was found in the village of Tarasivka, Fastiv district, in a field. Preliminary, it was an X-55SM. At the same time, a second missile crash site was found in the Zvenyhorod district of Cherkasy region without any consequences.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down 35 of 35 Russian “shaheds” during a night attack on May 8. At the same time, an X-22 missile hit a food processing facility in Odesa region.
