“The enemy is on the defense”: Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed more than three companies of Russian Armed Forces in Tavria sector, – general (video)
According to General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, the Ukrainian Armed Forces damaged and destroyed 57 units of Russian occupants’ military equipment over the past day.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are successfully destroying the Russian occupiers in the Tauride area. For instance, artillery and missile forces completed 1,522 firing missions over the day. This was stated by Brigadier General and Commander of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Group of Troops Oleksandr Tarnavsky on his Telegram page.
According to him, the enemy is now on the defensive and trying to stop Ukrainian forces. Counter-battery operations and work on the planned targets identified earlier by the Ukrainian intelligence continue.
“Enemy losses in killed and wounded amounted to over three companies. We destroyed and damaged 57 units of enemy military equipment,” said Tarnavsky.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to damage or destroy 12 tanks, 5 infantry fighting vehicles, 3 armored personnel carriers, 2 MTLBs, an armored personnel carrier, 2S19 Msta-S howitzer, 2S3 Acacia self-propelled artillery system, 2S1 Zoo self-propelled artillery system, BUK-M2 anti-aircraft missile system, Supercam UAV, Orlan-10 UAV, Zala UAV, 2 BM-21 Grad units, Strela-10 anti-aircraft missile system, Msta-S self-propelled artillery system.
Tarnavsky also noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed five ammunition depots of the Russians.
On June 8, the Defense Ministry confirmed the fighting in Zaporizhzhia region. Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar said that active fighting is taking place in the Bakhmut sector, and the occupants are trying to advance in the areas of Avdiivka and Maryinka, but in vain.
