The fourth plane since the beginning of the war, a Boeing 777-300ER, has been evacuated from Boryspil airport

On the morning of December 19, Ukraine’s largest passenger aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, was evacuated from Boryspil Airport to Europe. The aircraft with the tail number UR-AZR, owned by Skyline Express (formerly Azur Air Ukraine), has successfully landed at Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport in France, which is used as a place for maintenance and long-term storage of aircraft. This was reported by Avianews.

The plane, which before the war operated flights to Caribbean resorts under the control of Azur Air Ukraine, is considered a record-breaking Ukrainian passenger aircraft with a capacity of 531 people. This Boeing 777-300ER was transferred to Ukraine at the end of 2021 after operating for the Russian airline Azur Air.

Since the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, and the closure of Ukraine’s airspace, the plane has remained at Boryspil Airport, unable to fly.

Boryspil airport remains closed for regular flights due to the war.

Earlier, on December 20, 2022, two Airbus A400 military transport aircraft were evacuated, which had arrived here on the eve of the invasion. Also on April 4, 2023, SkyUp Airlines evacuated its Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Boryspil. That is, the evacuation of the Boeing 777-300ER from Boryspil was the fourth for the entire period of the war.
