The French embassy returned to Kyiv
The French embassy returned to Kyiv after seven weeks of departure. Earlier, it was temporarily in Lviv due to a full-scale Russian invasion.
Recently, the French flag was hoisted over the embassy building next to the European Union flag.
“We want to support Ukraine”
French Ambassador Etienne de Poncins stressed that the Russian army had failed to conquer Kyiv. Now, diplomats want to be as close as possible to continue to support Ukraine.
“Kyiv has not been conquered – Ukraine has survived, and we want to be as close as possible to the Ukrainian authorities to provide support and express solidarity,” – said Etienne de Poncins.

The embassies of many countries moved mainly to Lviv against the background of the threat of a full-scale Russian invasion, which took place on February 24. Now they are gradually returning to Kyiv. In particular, a number of countries have already announced their return or such an intention, including Italy, Belgium, France, Slovakia, the Baltic countries, Turkey, etc.
