The largest in 30 years: Polish army parade begins in Warsaw (video)

On August 15, Warsaw hosts a major military parade dedicated to the Day of the Polish Army, featuring new and modernized models of equipment

This was reported by Espresso journalist Maria Chernyakhivska.

“The military parade has already started. The Polish military band is already playing, and the first persons of the state are already being greeted. The Minister of Defense, the Prime Minister, and now the car with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, is coming. They will all have a chance to speak here-there is a special rostrum, invited guests, clergy, politicians,” she said.

According to her, the main entertainment part will begin after that.

“A lot of people have gathered to watch it. They are all sitting on a hill, it’s 33 degrees outside, but everyone is waiting for this large-scale event, which will start with the air show. Polish pilots will demonstrate 92 aircraft in the sky today, and then we will see more than 2 thousand Polish military personnel. There will also be a lot of modern weapons, new military vehicles of Polish, Korean, and American production purchased in recent years,” the journalist said.

The parade will showcase the process of modernizing the equipment of the Polish Army. These are American ABRAMS M1A1 tanks, Korean K2 tanks, and K9 self-propelled howitzers.

Samples of military equipment manufactured by the Polish military industry will also be presented. These include Krab self-propelled howitzers, new Borsuk armored personnel carriers, Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Rak self-propelled mortars, and Baobab-K minefields.

The parade will feature HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Patriot air defense systems, Korean FA-50 light fighters and Black Hawk AW101 and AW149 helicopters, as well as F-35 fighters of the US Air Force.

In addition to the Polish Army, the parade will be attended by soldiers from allied countries from the NATO battlegroup stationed in Ożysz – American, British, Romanian and Croatian soldiers. There will also be French military personnel who are actively involved in the EU mission to train Ukrainians.
