The National Guard of Ukraine has shown know-how to intercept enemy drones

Mykolaiv National Guardsmen came up with an unusual way of destroying Russian UAVs. From the materials released by the NSU press service, it follows that they are using a home-made anti-aircraft system for this. It is a pair of PKT machine guns.

To ensure the installation’s mobility, it was mounted by National Guardsmen in the back of a pickup truck. NGU fighters claim that three Shahed-136 drones were destroyed with its help.

Most of the armored vehicles used by the Ukrainian army are equipped with such 7.62-mm machine guns. NATO equipment is equipped with machine guns of larger calibers. The tank version of the PKT boasts the presence of an electric release function. She does not have a handle with a butt and a bipod. Soldiers of NGU provided the installation with a trigger mechanism that activates both machine guns. In addition, they installed an anti-aircraft sight on it.
