The National Security and Defense Council claims that the NYT is working for Russia: the newspaper’s journalists are recruited by the Kremlin

The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council accused the authors of The New York Times of working for Russian special services.

This is says in the analysis of the publication’s material that dictator Vladimir Putin is allegedly ready for a truce in Ukraine.

Analysts recall that the article about Russia’s alleged readiness for peace includes a comment by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

It is noted that the longer the war lasts, the more Russia becomes weaker in economic, technological and demographic terms, and increases its dependence on China.

The Center writes that Moscow’s “signal” may be made to stop further military assistance to Ukraine, as well as to give a rating of 45 to US President Donald Trump, who is ready to “give” the occupied territories to Russia.

“We should not forget that Russia is playing “peace” by investing more and more in the military-industrial complex and building up its cadre army. The article does not mention this, of course. Also, to write this text, the Russian Federation used American journalists recruited during their work in Russia,” the NSDC said.

  • Earlier, The New York Times wrote that dictator Vladimir Putin has been “signaling” through intermediaries about his alleged readiness for a ceasefire and a freeze in hostilities since at least September 2023. The journalists cited unnamed two former senior officials close to the Kremlin, as well as American and international officials who received these “signals” from Putin’s envoys. The authors of the article are Anton Troyanovsky, Adam Entous, and Julian E. Barnes. Troyanovsky is the Moscow bureau chief of the NYT and was born in Moscow. When he was five years old, his family moved to Germany and later to the United States. He is a Pulitzer Prize winner. It is worth mentioning here another laureate of this award and the head of the Moscow bureau of the NYT in 1922-1936, Walter Duranty, who justified the Stalinist regime, wrote about the “legitimacy” of mass repression, and denied the Holodomor.
