The new Flyer 72 infantry vehicle is equipped with electronic warfare, machine gun and 120 mm mortar and is capable of countering air and ground threats
Flyer Defense has unveiled the Flyer 72 multi-purpose mobile fire support system, nicknamed the Beast, capable of countering air and ground threats.
The Flyer 72, unofficially nicknamed The Beast, can be used in various combat scenarios where infantrymen need to conduct active offensive operations or defend specific important points on the battlefield. Flyer 72 combines a number of advanced systems to counter any type of modern threat.
The Flyer 72 infantry fighting vehicle can fight drones with four electronic warfare modules that provide 360-degree coverage. The vehicle is capable of supporting troops with fire and its powerful large-caliber machine gun. If necessary, it is possible to deploy a regular 120 mm mortar.
The main systems in The Beast include:
- 120 mm mortar system Scorpion Shoot and Scoot
- Multi-purpose hemispherical radar Leonardo DRS
- Kongsberg remote weapon system
- D-Fend Solutions EnforceAir drone defense system
“The robust design of the vehicle ensures efficiency in solving modern combat missions faced by soldiers. Our plan was and still is to create combat platforms that can flexibly adapt to the battlefield,” said Oded Nehushtan, founder and CEO of Flyer Defense.
